Climate change -Adaptation- Session:

Climate change exerts great pressure to natural and man-made environments. Water related changes, such as variations in precipitation intensity and frequency, depletion of glacier and snow cover, and early season runoff are perhaps the most critical concerns of climate change that evidenced to have substantial impacts and greater costs of recovery on each segments of the society. The increasing trend of more frequent extreme weather events constrains the ability of developing countries, where populations that are the most dependent on natural resources, to meet their sustainable development objectives. Adaptation to the adverse effects attributed to climate change is therefore important to mitigate the vast impacts, especially for the countries which have the least ability and capacity to withstand against frequent and greater damages. The objective of this particular session is to explore the contribution of climate change adaptation researches to bring forward more effective adaptation actions. Researchers and decision makers from developed and developing countries are therefore invited to share their methodologies, results and applications in a time where adaptation measures are increasingly required.
